Temple Visits

We have been organising school visits to Hindu temples since 1990.

IES staff are experienced in giving presentations on all aspects of Hinduism,
embracing a broad range of traditions.

Staff members are specifically trained in educational theory and practice.
They are also seasoned practitioners of Hinduism.

We cater to all age groups, from pre-school to post-16; also to a wide range of
schools, embracing the independent sector and special needs.

We aim to provide learning resources that are authentic, exciting and accessible.

Our approach has always been learning-centred, favouring experiential and interactive learning.

We discuss how the visit fits into students’ learning needs, with specific reference to both preparation and follow-up.

A visit to your local temple may include the following options:

  • Conducted tour (with bullock cart ride)
  • General interactive presentation
  • Dressing up workshops
  • Cultural presentation (dance, drama, music, etc.)
  • Darshan (audience) of the temple deities (and seeing the arti ceremony.)
  • Traditional vegetarian lunch
  • Visiting the souvenir and resource shop (with appropriately priced items).

Please note: all these options are generally available at Bhaktivedanta Manor; other centres may provide only selected services. They may also offer additional services.

Please do contact the relevant centre for further details.
